Massive Automated Simulation Testing in Urban Lines Re-Signalling in Hong Kong
The re-signalling of Hong Kong’s Tsuen Wan Line introduces CBTC technology under enhanced regulatory collaboration between EMSD and MTRCL. Rigorous verification, simulation and non-traffic-hour testing ensured safe transition without service interruption. Innovative scenario-based automated testing tools largely maximised testing coverage, shortened testing cycle and ultilised limited engineering windows. The project strengthens safety, reliability, and regulatory assurance, providing a benchmark model for complex live-network urban re-signalling.
