Graduate and Apprentice Development 

Irish Rail recognising a critical skills gap and a lack of indigenous supply chain support has established a structured graduate and apprenticeship framework to strengthen its Signalling, Electrification and Telecoms capability. This provides a pipeline of skills to support the operational railway and capital investment programmes. The programme includes rotational graduate development, expanded apprenticeship intake, enhanced training facilities, and formalised competence tracking. A dedicated Technical Resources Manager and permanent training staff support delivery. The initiative trebled apprenticeship recruitment and embeds long-term workforce resilience, retention, and technical succession planning across critical railway disciplines.
