Rail Signal Engineer Cadetship Program
VIDA Rail’s three-year Rail Signal Engineer Cadetship responds directly to Victoria’s major rail infrastructure expansion and acute signalling skills shortage. Combining structured employment rotations with a Graduate Certificate in Railway Signalling Systems, the programme develops capability across design, testing, commissioning and construction. Seventy cadets have entered the profession, with 89% remaining in rail and increased female participation acheived. The initiative provides a sustainable, home-grown talent pipeline for Australia’s signalling industry.
